Bring these questions
- Is my chin set back or short for my face, or is my concern actually fat or loose skin along the jaw?
- How will you check my profile during treatment so the shape suits my face?
- If I change my mind or the shape is uneven after I return home, how would dissolving it be arranged?
Who it suits
Chin filler suits a chin that sits back or is short for the face, or a lip-to-chin line that folds inward. The physician marks the chin with you sitting up and places filler in small amounts, checking the profile between passes, so you see the shape before leaving.
Who should look elsewhere
A double chin or loose skin along the jaw is usually a fat or laxity problem, and the physician will not add volume where it will not help. For those concerns, InMode, a fat-dissolving injection or a lifting treatment may be more relevant.
Duration and reversibility
Hyaluronic-acid filler is absorbed over time, at a rate that varies by product, amount and individual. The chin moves less than the lips, but no duration is guaranteed. Unlike Radiesse, it can be dissolved if you change your mind.
Risks and flying home
Swelling, bruising, lumpiness, asymmetry, infection and, rarely, blockage of a blood vessel are possible. Most people return to normal activity the same day, and swelling or bruising is usually most visible in the first few days. Mention a short stay so treatment is planned around your flight.
