Bring these questions
- Where does my looseness actually sit, and would Thermage, both, or neither suit it better than Ultherapy?
- Why is the shot count you recommend the right dose for my anatomy rather than a larger tier?
- Is same-day flying reasonable for me given tenderness, my medical history and the length of my flight?
Who it is assessed for
The usual consultation focus is early looseness along the jawline, lower face and under the chin. The physician marks lines and depths on your face before any energy is used. Daylight photos and a note of previous lifting, filler or threads help shape a first answer before you travel.
Limits worth knowing
Marked excess skin, a very lean face or active infection may point to a different plan. More shots do not add lift if energy goes into the wrong plane. Change is expected to develop gradually. The small study cited by Tune Clinic cannot predict your result or how long any change will last.
How it compares
Thermage warms a broad area of the dermis with radiofrequency, while Ultherapy targets set depths with ultrasound; neither is a stronger version of the other. Some faces suit one, some both, some neither. Other focused ultrasound devices on the menu include Shurink and CoolSoniq.
Comfort, recovery and flights
Most people feel each pulse as a deep ache or hot prickle, often strongest over bone. Numbing is discussed and you can ask for a pause. Redness, swelling or tenderness along the jaw can occur. Send your itinerary before booking so flying home can be considered.
A source to discuss
A small, uncontrolled study of microfocused ultrasound with visualization reported improvement in facial and neck laxity, but it cannot predict your result or how long any change will last.
Microfocused ultrasound with visualization for facial and neck laxity. It does not cover this clinic's device generation, its shot tiers or its treatment protocol.
Twenty participants with no control group. At one year, blinded assessors rated 6 of 14 evaluable participants as improved, well below the unblinded and self-reported ratings. Follow-up lasting a year is not a promise of a year of benefit.
